Interior Wave, wood veneer & hardware, 2010
In 2010 I was commissioned to design and construct a site-specific installation for SicolaMartin, an advertising agency in Austin, TX. This work, Interior Wave, was created from a simple line drawing, a series of hand drawn arcs repeated, touching, overlapping and intertwining. The physical work, although three dimensional in its completion, is simply a line drawing, cut out, bent and affixed to the wall. It is an abstraction of course, not simply suggesting a wave or a nest, but embodying the illusion of movement in suspension.
Here are studies related to the project.
